My Hiatus
It has been some time…3 months to be exact, a long hiatus from Kiireyblog. I am deeply sorry, my beloved readers for not showcasing anything beautiful lately.
First of all, in June I was moving place, from a small miserable room to a place where I can call my home. Things were crazy, lots of boxes, packing and unpacking…not really much unpacking in fact, a lot of stuffs are still nesting uncomfortably in the boxes. And I got tired and really out of ideas on how to decorate the house. I have not even come up with a color that both me and Berg can compromise (he wants red, orange, strong hot passionate angry colors and I want soft pastel Victorian or zen colors). And the first month in the new place was spent without internet. What a torture to be disconnected from my other life (the virtual life).
Second, I am working my a++ off on my fabric online shop. I manage to open a blogshop and cater this for Malaysia and Singapore market. For those who does not know much about blogshop, here is what it is about : http://fabricfanatics.blogspot.com . In Malaysia and Singapore are stormed with a plethora of blogshops, selling anything from clothes, shoes, bags, watches, color contact lens to cupcakes. Malaysian and Singaporean love using Blogger platform and we use blogspot.com for everything, personal journal, gallery showcase, online shopfront, political ranting, review blogs. I prefer to call it my fabric catalog because it’s not really a fully functional e-commerce website with shopping cart. Surprisingly, my selection of craft and novelty fabrics are very well accepted by the locals because it is very niche and not something everyone can get from the local fabric or craft shop. I have been busy managing the business and perhaps working on bigger plan for the fabric business in my homeland (perhaps because it’s still all in my head).
Third, I think I have a problem with Farmville addiction. My friends and Berg will say, “You definitely have a serious problem with Farmville” because I talk and think about my farm all the time. I could spent up to 4-6 hours tending my virtual farm. Highest level are 90 and I’m now at 84! I am really something…haha. Where’s my medal??
.
.
.
Today is day 5 without Farmville and now I have a clearer head, more time in the reality life and also start blogging again. Cheers!!!

Contemporary Red, White, Black All Over
Red, white and black the color combination that I will be using for my new place. Here’s some great interior design ideas I found.
A touch of red, on a white canvas and minimal black brings out a contemporary home interior design.

Summer is coming. I can already feel the heat (even thought it’s almost summer all the time in Malaysia). Let’s see some summer fashion? It’s time to wear a lot of dresses and dance around.

Phuket on Films
Recently I started to capture things on films. It’s fun to load and unload film rolls and the anticipation to see what’s caught in the film. I’m using cheap plastic toy camera you can find in dollar stores (but nowadays toy camera are very over-rated and getting more expensive). The photos are full of flaws, blur and grainy but I always think those are the art of imperfection.
Here are some pictures from my previous Phuket (Thailand) trip.
Anyone else crazy with old school film photography?

Feature Artist : Tamar Mogendorff
Tamar Mogendorff is a fabric artist with fairy fingers, able to create life out of beautiful fabrics and threads. How I wish I have such talent to be able to create lovely creatures for my home. Her work is largely influenced by the use of linen fabric. As a fabric seller myself, linen is my favorite type of fabric. So down to earth, natural and simple but yet so beautiful, zakka as the Japanese would label it.
Go to her website for more inspiration.
